Description
Originally built in 1922 and converted to Hazelwood Sanitarium in 1935 and then in 1942 it became the Clovis Avenue Sanitarium. Reports of spiritual activity started in 2000 after it was purchased to make a Halloween attraction. Employees reported feeling the presence of an unknown spirit. Since then there have been reports of strange unembodied noises and voices, unembodied heavy footsteps, and unknown spirits which have appeared in photographs. These spirits are believed to some of the unforunate souls who were mentally ill patients who were treated harshly during the period of hydrotherapy and electroshock therapy when it was believed enough time spent being tortured would cure the patient of their mental illness.
