Actually named Jackson Ford Bridge, there are reports of a heavy white mist which rises up from the creek, regardless of the weather. This mist is what led to the bridge’s nickname. There are also claims of the spirit of a man, believed to be a runaway slave, who was hung from the bridge during the Civil War.
