Description
Built in 1899 and operated as a brothel, the original building was burned to the ground. The current building was built atop the ashes. The spirit of a lady, believed to be former Madam Jennie Banter, is believed to move furniture and items. The spirit of her cat has also been reportedly sighted on various occasions. There have also been reports of the spirit of an elderly man in late 1800’s work clothes who has been seen staring out of windows, or standing outside looking into the street. There are claims that an unknown dark or evil spirit has been encountered in guest rooms and the restaurant. These spirits are believed to be the source of strange noises, music, and voices, as well as the unembodied heavy footsteps which have been encountered here.
