Description
Local legend claims the spirit of a woman named Nancy walks the mountain holding a pail of water and a lantern, while searching for her son and husband. During the Civil War, the son enlisted in the army. Word came back that the son was killed in action but no body was recovered. Nancy and her husband began searching the mountain for their son’s body. During this time the husband disappeared. Some time later, Nancy received news that the body of an old main was found frozen to death next to the grave of an unknown soldier. Shortly after, Nancy disappeared never to be seen again.
