Description
Local legend claims the spirit of a man, known as The Ghost of Slaughterhouse Gulch, was a former minor killed in an explosion. His spirit is restless because he never received a proper burial. He has been heard coughing and seen walking through the area. In 1918 one family recorded their encounter when they were camping, heard a cough, and looked to see the spirit walking past their camp site. A stage coach driver also recorded his encounter when the spirit walked in between his horses and disappeared.
